I need to install an R PENTA for Windows (PfW) build. What are the steps to install an R build using the PPI

Resolution/Fix/Answer

Yes, you can use the PPI to install an R build. You would uninstall any PENTA for Windows patch(es) and PENTA for Windows. You would then install the R PENTA for Windows build and any patch(es) that were uninstalled.

Note: You only need to uninstall PENTA for Windows and any PENTA for Windows patch(es) - you do not need to uninstall any other component. Also, you do not need to download configuration files. 

1. Start the PPI from the Start Menu
2. Enter in your configuration key and select the Load Config Key Button
3. Select PENTA for Windows and if there are PENTA for Windows patches installed, select the  PENTA for Windows patches
4. Select the Uninstall Selected Components radio button.
5. Select the R PENTA for Windows build and any patches that were uninstalled in Step 3
6. Select the Install/Update Selected components radio button
