Is there a way to allow an employee to have a tax Id consisting of all 0s?

Issue/Symptom/Question

Is there a way to set up an employee with a fake/invalid SS Id number?

For billing purposes, we need to set up a sub contractor as an employee in Penta. Because this employee will not be paid through Payroll, we need to make sure he is set up with an invalid Tax Id. Is there a way to do this?

Fake/Invalid Tax Id (SSID)

Tax Id validation

Tax Id System Options

Resolution/Fix/Answer

There are 3 options that affect Penta's Tax ID integrety constraints. Those are:

258: Allow All Tax Id Values:  This system option will allow the user to enter any value (except a 9 digit all 0 Id) in the Tax Id field when setting up an employee.

283: Allows the user to enter duplicate tax Ids for multiple employees.

322: Allow Tax Ids with all 0s: This system option allows you to enter a Tax Id containing all 0s.

To set up pseudo employee(s) with fake Tax Ids, switch system option 283 to allow duplicate tax Ids and system option 322 to allow all 0 tax Ids.
