What Items are saved when creating a workbench role template?

Are report layouts and bookmarks saved with a workbench role template?

Resolution/Fix/Answer

1.) Workbench Role Templates are intended to do the following two things:

• Provide a means to define a workbench layout of tabs, panels, and associated panel parameters for a role
• To be used for a new user as a starting point when they first access the workbench, so that they can customize it to their preferences moving forward

2.) The following items ARE saved as part of the role template, and passed on to the assigned user(s):

• Tab Column Layout
• Tab Order
• Tab Names
• Panel Layouts on each tab
• Panel Names
• Panel Parameters

3.) The Following items ARE NOT saved as part of the role template:

• Personal Bookmarks
• Report Layouts
• Report Charts, Filters, and Cross tabs
• Report Custom Columns or Formulas
