Is there a configuration option to control the display of Premium (overtime) hours within the eTime entry grid?

Issue/Symptom/Question

Can the entry of hours worked be limited to Regular hours only?

Within the data entry grid of the eTime application there are three fields available for recording hours worked: 

  • Regular
  • Prem 1
  • Prem 2

Employees are able to enter hours as overtime when they may not be eligible for overtime hours.

Overtime hours are determined by the automatic overtime rules defined within the Payroll Class records.

Resolution/Fix/Answer

No, there are no configuration settings to exclude the Premium 1 and Premium 2 fields on either the PENTA Web or the PENTA Mobile Application for eTime.

Approvers must review entered overtime hours and determine if the employee is eligible to be paid on an overtime basis. If an employee enters overtime hours but is not eligible to be paid overtime the approver should reject the timesheet and return it to the employee for corrections.
