Unable to change PENTA users's password
Unable to change PENTA users's password
Issue/Symptom/Question
While attempting to reset a users password in the Define Users window, I am receiving the below error message:
Error
Unable to change password for OnBase user XXXX. (ORA-20123): User XXXX could not be found.)
Applies To
PENTA for Windows
System Management > Security > Define Users
OnBase Configuration > Users > User Names & Passwords
Resolution/Fix/Answer
This error message indicates the OnBase user for this PENTA user does not exist. A user with access to OnBase Configuration can add the missing Penta user, see the steps below:
- Log into OnBase Configuration.
- Navigate to Users > User Names & Passwords and search for the missing Penta user.
- Add the Penta user by entering the user id in the empty box below the user list.
- Click on Create.
- Highlight the newly added user then click on Settings then add the highlighted information (dependent on your company's policies).
- Highlight the newly added user then click on User Groups and add the respective user groups to the newly created user
Once this is added and OnBase nightly cache is re-set, you will be able to update the user's password. If you complete these steps and are still receiving the error, please submit a support ticket and reference this article.
