Retro Pay and Undistributed Timecards
Issue/Symptom/Question
How are undistributed employee timecards affected by a pay rate change (either at the employee level or the payroll class / pay rate # level) flagged as retroactive where the rate change is dated less than the work date on the undistributed timecards?
Applies To
- Payroll => Time Entry => Time/Equipment/Production Units Entry
- Payroll => Payroll Check Processing => Distribute TimecardsÂ
Resolution/Fix/Answer
Pay rate changes made either at an employee level or at a payroll class / pay rate # level flagged as "Retroactive Pay = Y", that are dated less than the work date for timecards in an open undistributed batch will not be treated as retroactive adjustments. Timecards must be through the Distribute Timecards process in order for the timecards to be eligible for retroactive adjustments.Â
However - PENTA will automatically apply the modified hourly rate to the undistributed timecards making a retroactive adjustment not necessary.
