Unable to query back a Job in the Job Information window
Issue/Symptom/Question
A user is attempting to query back a Job Id in the Job Information window, but nothing is being retrieved as though it does not exist. I have confirmed this Job exists in the system because I can see it in other PENTA windows/queries.
Environment
PENTA for Windows
Job Information (Project Management>Jobs>Job Information)
Resolution/Fix/Answer
This is likely a security issue.
Job Authorization can be controlled in the Define Users window, or in the Job Information window
Define Users window:
- Query back the User Id
- Identify the Security Group that gives the user access to the Job Information window
- Ensure the OU Id assigned to the Job in question is listed/authorized for that security group
2. On the Job Authorization tab, make sure the Job Id is listed, and ensure the 'Allow Update' field is 'Y'.
NOTE: If the Job Id is listed, the user has access to the job. However, if the Allow Update is set to 'N', the user will NOT have access to query the job in the Job Information window. They would be able to query the job in the Job Information - Query only window.
Job Information window: - The information below will be the same as the data in the Define Users window, this is just an additional place to make the change.
- On the Security Tab, query the job Id, make sure the 'Allow Update' field is checked
