Web Reporting Module
Issue/Symptom/Question
What is the Web Reporting Module?
Applies To
PENTA Web Reporting
Resolution/Fix/Answer
Benefits:
- Both Crystal Reports and Legacy Reports are listed in one place
- MVP release is first step to replace the Crystal Report Interface (aka CRI) technology which has a scheduled end of life
- Crystal Reports are able to be viewed in a Browser window
Security:
- The Web Reporting Module is given to Users the same way as other Web Modules, by removing the restriction in Security Groups on the Reporting folder.
- A Permission exists for which Security Groups can add/edit crystal reports under the Reporting Folder on the PENTA Menu Security
For legacy reports:
- The Web Reporting Module follows the Report Security of the Security Groups assigned to the User
- For Legacy Reports, the Web Reporting Module will open the Report Initiation screen in PENTA for Windows, so the Web Browser used for PENTA Web has to be running on a machine with PENTA for Windows installed.
