To minimize the impact of excess payroll taxes due to inflated gross wages, is it possible to perform a payroll gross to net process for retro pay amounts independent of a regular weekly payroll?

Resolution/Fix/Answer

Yes, Retro Pay Can have a separate Gross to Net, which will produce two separate checks for the pay period.

1) Complete regular payroll for the pay period 

2) Select the Retroactive Adjustment button to include in a second payroll process to create the separate check and complete the payroll process again
