Performing an iisreset - How do I reset the OnBase App Pools?

Issue/Symptom/Question

Depending on the type of change you made in OnBase Configuration, you may need to perform a Full Reset in order for Unity Client to see the changes.

This also includes creating a new OnBase User Group to map to an existing/new PENTA Security Group.

Applies To

OnBase - All Versions

Resolution/Fix/Answer

All Resets are performed within the OnBase ECM AppServer.  If you do not have access to the ECM Server and you are able to wait for the nightly reset to occur, please submit a service desk ticket in reference to this article.

If you do indeed have access to the ECM Server, below are the proper steps in performing the reset

Option 1 - Resetting All Environments at One Time

If you have admin access on the ECM Server do the following

  1. Within windows Start Menu type in 'CMD'.  This will bring up the Windows Command Prompt

  2. Right Click on Command Prompt and choose 'Run as Administrator'

  3. Within the User Account Control Manual Choose 'Yes' in order to allow this app to make changes

  4. Within the Command Prompt type in 'iisreset'

  5. When you are finished click 'Enter'
This will reset all Application Pools for ALL Environments.  If you do not want to perform a reset for all environments, proceed to Option 2.

Option 2 - Resetting Individual Environments

  1.  Within the Windows Start Menu type in "IIS"  - Internet Information Services.  This will bring up IIS

  2.  Click on 'Internet Information Services Manager'

  3. Choose 'Application Pools'

  4. This will load all the Application Pools in OnBase.  Find the environment you want to perform the reset for, 'AppServerEnviornmentName'.

  5. Right Click and Choose 'Recycle'.  AppServerProd in this case.
