OU Authorization on User Visibility of Employees

Issue/Symptom/Question

I am changing security to what we want it to be by individual user.  I am being told a User can’t see any employees, but I have given the User full access to both payroll and HR.  What else do I need to do?

Resolution/Fix/Answer

The OU Authorization (or lack thereof) is preventing the User from seeing any employees.

Switching the S to an A, will be giving access to All OUs.

The S stands for Some OUs and then you can go in and Add the specific OUs the User should have access to.

The M stands for Most.  If M is used, then All OUs show in the list and OUs the User should not have access to can be deleted.

Note: Giving All access saves time later if new OUs are added/created.  If an employee has S or M, then Users need the new OUs added to their Authorization to see the new OUs.  PENTA tends to hide new items in order to prevent giving someone access to something they should not have.  The All truly means All, and the new OUs will be automatically added for that User.
