Resolution/Fix/Answer

The machine is more than likely missing the PENTA for Windows (PfW) configuration file, which is the penta.ini file.

Typically the penta.ini file is stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Penta Technologies, Inc\Penta for Windows

Note: The exception to this is if the client is using the central .ini feature, which will store penta.ini files in a location on the clients LAN. The central .ini location is mostly used when there are multiple Terminal Servers or Citrix Severs running PENTA for Windows. How can I determine if we are using the central ini feature for PENTA for Windows?

Two ways to resolve this:

  1. You can copy the penta.ini file from a machine currently running PENTA for Windows to the machine having the problem. Typically the penta.ini file is stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Penta Technologies, Inc\Penta for Windows
  2. If the PENTA Product Installer (PPI) was used for the PENTA for Windows installation, then you can use the PPI to download the penta.ini file. You would do the following:
    1. In the choose Action Block of the PPI, select Download and Install Configuration Files and select the Go Button
