Resolution/Fix/Answer
The machine is more than likely missing the PENTA for Windows (PfW) configuration file, which is the penta.ini file.
Typically the penta.ini file is stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Penta Technologies, Inc\Penta for Windows
Note: The exception to this is if the client is using the central .ini feature, which will store penta.ini files in a location on the clients LAN. The central .ini location is mostly used when there are multiple Terminal Servers or Citrix Severs running PENTA for Windows. How can I determine if we are using the central ini feature for PENTA for Windows?
Two ways to resolve this:
- You can copy the penta.ini file from a machine currently running PENTA for Windows to the machine having the problem. Typically the penta.ini file is stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Penta Technologies, Inc\Penta for Windows
- If the PENTA Product Installer (PPI) was used for the PENTA for Windows installation, then you can use the PPI to download the penta.ini file. You would do the following:
- In the choose Action Block of the PPI, select Download and Install Configuration Files and select the Go Button
