Updating Overhead Distribution Rules

Issue/Symptom/Question

When entering burden rates, the effective date and value for Rule # XXX was incorrectly entered. How do we correct an incorrectly entered Overhead Distribution Rule?

Resolution/Fix/Answer

  • Navigate to the Overhead Distribution Rule Information window using the path above
  • Query the incorrect Overhead Distribution Rule 

Sample Incorrect OH Burden Record:

Click on the Effective Date field and then the Insert button (while in the Effective Date field) to create a blank record:


Type in the same effective date as the incorrect record and answer yes to the pop-up question:

Note: if updating for a rate change in a new period, use the appropriate effective date (for example, for 2015 the rate is 10% - use 01/01/15)


Review/update the Rules, Calculation, and Rate by Employee tabs to make sure the correct information is copied and to make desired updates, then exit the window:


Once you return to the window and query the overhead rule, there will now be two records for the date one should be set to D (Deactivated) and on set to A (Active):
