Resolution/Fix/Answer
There are two options for updating your PENTA password. Option 1 is you are forced to update your password, either when your system administrators turns on password security for the first time, or after your password expires over time. Option 2 is you would like to update your password but you are not forced to do so.
Option 1: Forced Password Update
While logging into the system, you receive the below error message:
After clicking okay, you will be sent automatically to the Password Maintenance window
Enter your Current PENTA Password
Click Tab on your keyboard
Enter a new Password (Requirements for this are determined at the system level, please check with your system administrator for more information)
Click Tab on your keyboard
Enter the new Password a second time
Click Tab on your keyboard
Once complete, you will receive the below message, then click Ok
Next, close the Password Maintenance window and log into PENTA using your new password
Option 2: Manually update your PENTA password
Navigate to the Password Maintenance window
Repeat steps 3 -10 above
Option 3: Reset password for another user
Navigate to the Define Users window.
Query the user whose password needs to be reset.
Type the new password in the Password field.
Hit tab.
Retype the password in the Password field.
Hit tab.
Close the window.
NOTE: If a user is unable to change his/her password and receives an error message, please ensure the user has security authorization to the Password Maintenance window.
