Updating a Record that Already Exists

Issue/Symptom/Question

While attempting to update bank information, PENTA provided the following error message:

Error:

Acct # (##########) has already been established for Bank Id (##########).

Applies To

PENTA for Windows

Bank Account Numbers (Finance & Accounting>Setup>Bank Information>Bank Account Numbers)

Resolution/Fix/Answer

This message indicates that the record you are entering already exists within the system. To retrieve that record for updating or viewing, try the following:

  1. Click the Query button on the PENTA toolbar
  2. Enter the Bank Id and Bank Acct #
  3. Click the Query button on the PENTA toolbar
  4. PENTA should now retrieve the record and allow you to view and/or update the information as needed
