Move Depreciation from one Organizational Unit (OU) To Another
Issue/Symptom/Question
When reviewing GL results, accounting noted that the depreciation expense of some intangible assets needed to be moved from one OU to another. The accountant changed the OU assigned to these assets; however, when she re-ran depreciation, nothing changed. From the warning message it seems that going forward depreciation will be charged to the new OU as needed. However, it seems that we have no way of effecting a transfer of the past depreciation on these assets. Please let us know if there is a way to accomplish what accounting has requested. Since it is essential to keep the GL account balance and subledger in balance, we cannot just use a journal entry.
