What are the rules for changing the status of a Work Order in the MFS app?

For a status to appear in the change status pop up in MFS it must be setup in the next available status section of the Mobile Field Service Configuration - Status Rules screen in PFW. Please read the Unable to select/ change the status of a Work Order in MFS for instructions on how to do this. 


Once status rules are setup correctly in PFW the MFS app has the following rules for changing a status on the device:


MFS app 21.3 and lower:

  • Only statuses that are in the next available status section for the current status will be available options to select when changing the status of a Work Order, Job, or Non-Productive Task.
  • Once a status code with a PENTA status of "P" is selected the tech cannot revert the status change.
  • Once a Work Order status is changed to a Penta status of "P" no other Work Orders can have their status changed until ticketing is completed for the in process Work Order.


MFS app 22.1 and up:

  • Only statuses that are in the next available status section for the current status will be available options to select when changing the status of a Work Order, Job, or Non-Productive Task.
  • Once a status code with a PENTA status of "P" is selected the tech cannot revert the status change.
  • Once a Work Order status is changed to a Penta status of "P" other Work Orders can have their status changed to a Penta "A" status that has Send to Mobile Device checkbox unchecked in the Work Order Status Codes screen in PFW.
