Technician Unable To Select Parts On Mobile Device

Issue/Symptom/Question

I have a technician who is looking at a work order on his mobile device but he is unable to pull any inventory products to his work order.

Environment

PENTA for Windows:

  • System Management > Security > Define Users > Mobile tab > Default Warehouse
  • Inventory > Setup > Warehouse/Product Information
  • Inventory > Setup > Product Information

Resolution/Fix/Answer

There are three primary reasons why the tech might not be able to select inventory products for his/her work order:

  1. The technician's user account is not linked to a default warehouse,
    1. Resolution: Access the users account in the Define Users window navigate to the Mobile tab, and enter the appropriate warehouse values in the 'Default Warehouses' block.
  2. The warehouse/product combination is not set to be sent to the mobile device, and 
    1. Resolution: Use the Warehouse/Product Information window to query back the warehouse/product record and to flag the record as to be sent to the mobile device using the 'Send to Mobile Device Y/N' field.
  3. The inventory product is not authorized for the work orders OU Id.
    1. Resolution: Use the Product Information window to query back the product in question and adjust the OU authorization to include the OU associated with the work order using the OU Authorization tab. .
