Cannot see contents of the Tax Id field when querying a specific user or employee in the Vendor Information window.

Resolution/Fix/Answer

There are restrictions that can be set within the module security settings that control if the user will be able to see what is in the Tax Id field, regardless of the security group they are assigned to in Group Authorization.  This is because the Tax Id field is the social security number and it has higher security levels, especially if the vendor is also an employee.  The value of the Define User window’s Security Action Code field determines whether you can view this field.  If the Security Action Code field’s value is Y, you can view this field.  If the Security Action Code field’s value is N, PENTA does not display this field.

You would be able to change this permission per user in the Define Users security window.  Only do this for the users you want to have permission to see the employee/vendors social security number.

System Management > Security > Define Users > Query the User > Module Security Tab > Enter Module ‘PREMP’ 

Change to Y for the "Allowed to View social security/tax id/alien registration #s" option.
