We received email from Red Hat about migrating from Red Hat Network Classic (RHN) to Red Hat Subscription Management (RHSM). How do we do this?

Resolution/Fix/Answer

Red Hat has changed how users access updates/patches for their servers.

• Log into Linux server as root
• At command prompt type:
  • subscription-manager register --auto-attach

• • • You will be prompted for your Red Hat Network username and password 
• If you receive an error stating it is already subscripted to RHN do the following:
  • subscription-manager unregister
  • subscription-manager clean
  • subscription-manager register --auto-attach
