I am receiving the following error message when attempting to enter forecasts for a given job. How do I prevent the system from providing this error message?

"Forecasts for job XXX must be entered using the Change Requests window".

Resolution/Fix/Answer

The "Maintain Forecasts and Estimate Changes via Change Requests" field at the Job Type master level controls whether or not forecast records can be maintained in the Forecast Entry window:

1. When this field is set to Yes, PENTA prevents users from entering forecasts via the "Forecast Entry" window and only allows forecast adjustments via the "Change Requests" window. 
2. When this field is set to No, PENTA allows users to enter forecasts via the "Forecast Entry' and "Change Request" windows.

In this scenario, the error message indicates that the "Maintain Forecasts and Estimate Changes via Change Requests" field at the Job Type master was set as Yes. To prevent the error message from being displayed again, modify the "Maintain Forecasts and Estimate Changes via Change Requests" value for the Job Type linked to the job you are trying to enter in the "Forecast Entry" window.
