ROE file rejected due to negative timecard adjusting entry

Issue/Symptom/Question

Negative dollar amount inserted in one of the Box B15C fields of the ROE file generated by Penta, results in a file rejected error message

Applies To

Time/Equipment/Production entry

ROE

Resolution/Fix/Answer

Any Canadian timecard adjusting entries should be made using a payroll date within the original payroll period, and more correctly, should be made using the same original payroll date.

Cause

A negative timecard adjusting entry using a payroll date outside of the original positive timecard entry will cause the ROE file to include the negative amount in a separate Box 15C than the positive amount (the intention would be to net the positive and negative amounts together to either equal zero, or a smaller positive amount).
