Issue/Symptom/Question

How do we input gift cards as non-compensation Values on Employee W2s? This will be reported in box 14 on the employee's W2.

Setup Other Compensation Record:

Payroll > Setup > Deductions, Reimbursements and Other Compensation 

Record Other Compensation 

Payroll > Periodic Reporting > Employee Other Compensation Entry

Resolution/Fix/Answer

  1. Setup an Other Compensation record

    1. Make sure the appropriate W2 INFORMATION box is chosen - example below is using Box 14

  2. Review/update the taxability of the Other Compensation record

  3. Process an Employee Other Compensation Entry batch to record the Gift Card payment(s)

  4. Review employee W2 for accuracy
