Deleting documents in OnBase

Deleting documents in OnBase

Issue/Symptom/Question

How do I delete a document from OnBase?

Environment

OnBase

Unity Client>Document Retrieval

OnBase Client>Document Maintenance

Resolution/Fix/Answer

  • Log into the OnBase Unity Client using your PENTA username and password

    • Click on the ‘Retrieval’ button, enter the document type, document type group, and keywords to limit your search to the specific document you are deleting. Click 'Find' to execute the document retrieval.
    • Right click on the document that you are trying to delete, then select Delete Document.

NOTE: After the document is deleted, it will no longer be available for retrieval or accessible from within PENTA. It will, however, still exist in the Document Maintenance queue via the OnBase Thick Client. An admin at your company should be monitoring this list to purge documents (final delete) as needed, or in some cases, undelete certain documents.
