Dates used to calculate Fixed Asset Depreciation
Dates used to calculate Fixed Asset Depreciation
Issue/Symptom/Question
We entered a fixed asset with in-service and acquisition dates of 6/25/2018 but a distribution date of 11/30/18. Does this mean that the depreciation calculation will not start until 11/30/18 in Penta?
Applies To
PENTA for Window
Fixed Asset Management > Asset Information
Resolution/Fix/Answer
When entering a fixed asset in PENTA the Acquisition date is a required field. PENTA uses the In Service Date to calculate depreciation, if this date is not entered then the Acquisition Date is used. If the asset is posted at a later date, then PENTA will calculate all the depreciation through the distribution (posting date) of the fixed asset acquisition.
