Document Retrieval in OnBase returns "Restricted: Document Type Name"
Issue/Symptom/Question
When I try to query for a document within Document Retrieval or via Cross References I get the following message "You do not have rights to view this document"
Applies To
OnBase - All Versions
Resolution/Fix/Answer
The document you are trying to see must have 'all' security keyword values if the keyword exists on the document type. This means that if the user belongs to a user group with multiple security keywords. For instance, Work Order Id: 30, Work Order OU Id: 10. The document must contain both keyword values in order for the user to see the document; unless the keyword is not on the document.
Verify the user groups you belong to, does not have additional values associated to the user group that are on the document but no value exists on the document.
This can be done by going to OnBase Configuration>>Users>>Usernames & Passwords>>The users's username>>User Groups.
Make a note of the User Groups and check each user group by going to Users>>User Groups & Rights>>Security Keywords.
If you cannot verify your User Group/Security Group access within OnBase Configuration and/or you do not have access to OnBase Configuration please submit a service desk ticket and reference this article.
NOTE: You may also belong to 'Security Keywords' within a user level which applies the same way in that the document you are trying to open must have the same value applied as what your user security keyword is set as. If the value does not equal, then you do not have access to open the document.
