Resolution/Fix/Answer
The Pay Period Units/Hours Information report prints timecard information to substantiate unit rate payroll compensation that appears on an employee’s check/direct deposit advice you issue from outside PENTA with data transferred from PENTA. Since you might attach pages of this report to employee checks/direct deposit advices, data for each employee begins on a new page, and the report includes summary pages for your records. PENTA prints the summary pages at the beginning of the report.
Selection
You can limit record selection for this report by:
- Organization Unit Id
- Beginning Pay Period End Date
- Ending Pay Period End Date
- Pay Group Number
- Employee Id
This report also provides the selection parameter Print User Selections that allows you to control whether PENTA prints your Selection criteria on the report. Possible values are:
- F – First Page Only
- N – Do not Show
The default value is F.
Sort
Records sort in order by:
- Organization Unit Id
- Employee Name
- Pay Period End Date
Summary Pages Totals
OU Total
After each OU section (before a new OU’s section), PENTA prints a total row with the total dollar values for the following columns on the summary pages:
- Unit Rate Pay
- Unit Rate Pay Wage Adj
- Unit Rate Pay Prem 1
- Unit Rate Pay Prem 2
- Other Pay
- Reimbursements
- Shift/Haz Premiums
- Hourly Rate Pay

On the last summary page, PENTA prints a total row with the total dollar value of the following columns:

Unit Rate Pay Total
After a Unit Rate Pay section for an employee, PENTA prints a total row with the total values for the following columns:
- Reg Hours
- Premium 1 Hours
- Premium 2 Hours
- Units
- Amount
- Total (on this total row, PENTA reprints the Amount total to facilitate clarity of the Total column for other rows)
Gross Hourly Rate Pay
After an Hourly Rate Pay section for an employee, PENTA prints a total row with the total values for the following columns:
- Reg Hours
- Premium 1 Hours
- Premium 2 Hours
- Amount
- Total (on this total row, PENTA reprints the Amount total to facilitate clarity of the Total column for other rows)
Total Reimbursement Pay
After a Reimbursement Pay section for an employee, PENTA prints a total row with the total values for:

Total Gross Pay
After each employee section (before a new employee’s section), PENTA prints a total row with the total values for the Total column.

Summary Pages Fields
Employee Id - The Employee Id identifies an employee with compensation in the pay period you generated the report for.
Employee Name - This is the Employee Name associated with the Employee Id.
Pay Period End Date - This is the Pay Period End Date you generated the report for. If you generated the report for a date range that includes multiple Pay Period End Dates, PENTA prints one row for each date that has employee data.
Unit Rate Pay - This is the employee’s total Unit Rate Pay for the row’s pay period. It equals the following detail page amount: Unit Rate Pay Total – (Unit Rate Pay Prem 1 + Unit Rate Pay Prem 2 values—which PENTA prints in separate columns on the summary page).
Unit Rate Pay Wage Adj - This is the employee’s total Unit Rate Pay Wage Adjustment for the row’s pay period.
Unit Rate Pay Prem 1 - This is the employee’s total Premium 1 pay (overtime) for unit rate work in the row’s pay period.
Unit Rate Pay Prem 2 - This is the employee’s total Premium 2 pay (overtime) for unit rate work in the row’s pay period.
Other Pay - This is the employee’s total Other Pay in the row’s pay period.
Reimbursements - This is the total of the employee’s Reimbursements in the row’s pay period.
Shift/Haz Premiums - This is the total of the employee’s Shift/Haz Premiums in the row’s pay period.
Hourly Rate Pay - This is the total of the employee’s Hourly Rate Pay in the row’s pay period.
Gross Pay - This is the employee’s Gross Pay in the row’s pay period.
Detail Page Fields
OU Id - This identifies the Organization Unit you generated the report for.
OU Name - This is the OU Id’s name/description.
Employee Id - The Employee Id identifies an employee with payroll transactions in the Organization Unit and pay period you generated the report for.
Employee Name - This is the Employee Name associated with the Employee Id.
Pay Period End Date - This is the Pay Period End Date associated with the employee’s payroll transactions.
Work Date - This is the Work Date associated with the payroll transaction.
Unit Pay Code/Hour Class - In the Unit Rate Pay section, PENTA prints the Unit Pay Code identifying unit rate work performed on the Work Date. In the Hourly Rate Pay, PENTA prints the Hour Class identifying hourly rate work performed on the Work Date. Reg Hours. In the Unit Rate Pay section, PENTA prints the number of Regular Hours associated with the unit rate work. In the Hourly Rate Pay section, PENTA prints the number of Regular Hours associated with the hourly rate work.
Premium 1 Hours - In the Unit Rate Pay section, PENTA prints the number of Premium 1 Hours associated with the unit rate work. In the Hourly Rate Pay section, PENTA prints the number of Premium 1 Hours associated with the hourly rate work.
Premium 2 Hours - In the Unit Rate Pay section, PENTA prints the number of Premium 2 Hours associated with the unit rate work. In the Hourly Rate Pay section, PENTA prints the number of Premium 2 Hours associated with the hourly rate work.
Units - In the Unit Rate Pay section, PENTA prints the number of Units produced, of the type identified by the Unit Pay code, on the work date. This column is blank in the Hourly Rate Pay section of this report.
Rate - In the Unit Rate Pay section, PENTA prints the per unit Rate for the units produced. In the Hourly Rate Pay section, PENTA prints the hourly Rate for the hours worked.
Amount - In the Unit Rate Pay section, PENTA prints values in the Amount column for the following detail rows:
Unit Pay Code (Rate * Units)
Unit Rate Pay Premium 1 Amount (the premium for all Premium 1 Hours reported for the work date)
Unit Rate Pay Premium 2 Amount (the premium for all Premium 2 Hours reported for the work date)
