Use the Job Gross Margin Analysis report to compare gross margins for the current period, the year to date, and the job to date. This report displays Gross Margin results (Gross Margin and Gross Margin Percent) for the current period, Year-To-Date, and Job-To-Date. Earned Revenue and Actual Cost also displays for each of these periods. PENTA reports the information by job within OU Id.

Selection

You can limit records displaying on this report by:

  • Period Begin and End Date – Use the Period Begin Date and Period Ending Date fields to specify the period for which the report is valid. The report includes transactions posted during this period.
  • Trans Dated Through
  • Trans Entered Through
  • Job Id
  • Organization Unit Id
  • Customer Id
  • Job Status
  • Job Type
  • Project Manager
  • Sales Person Id
  • Rollup Child Jobs into Parent Job?

Sort

Records sort in order by:

  1. OU Id
  1. Job Id
  2. Job Status

Grouped By

This report contains sub-totals for each OU Id.

Example Report Results:

Period: Current Period - These amounts are for the period of Period Begin Date through Period Ending Date in the selection criteria.

Earned Revenue - The amount billed adjusted by Over/Under Billed for the period.

Actual Cost - The actual cost for the period.

Gross Margin - PENTA calculates this value as: Earned Revenue – Actual Cost

Gross Margin % - PENTA calculates this value as: Gross Margin ÷ Earned Revenue. If Earned Revenue is zero, then Gross Margin is zero.

Period: Year-To-Date - These amounts are for the fiscal year through the Ending Date in the selection criteria.

Period: Job-To-Date - These amounts are for the job through the Ending Date in the selection criteria.
