Crystal Report - AP Sales Tax Summary Report

Resolution/Fix/Answer

This report allows you to see the total sales and use tax from purchases for each tax jurisdiction for a given Legal Entity Organizational Unit. You can use this report to do the following:

  1. Export the report to Excel and easily summarize the amount owed to each jurisdiction by Legal Entity Organizational Unit.
  2. Use the jurisdiction totals to report the correct sales tax amount to the appropriate collection entity (for example the Department of Revenue).

This report has very simple formatting because it is designed for export to Excel. For information on the best way to generate this report and export to Excel.

Selection

You can limit record selection and printing of certain records for this report by:

  • Period Begin Date and Period End Date
  • Legal Entity OU Id
  • Tax Jurisdiction State Code
  • Tax Jurisdiction ID

Sort - Because this report is intended for export to Excel, it has no sort order.

Page Breaks - Because this report is intended for export to Excel, this report has no page breaks.

Totals - Because this report is optimized for export to Excel, there are no “official” total or subtotal columns; however, the Amount column represents the total sales tax amount calculated for the Organizational Unit/Jurisdiction.

Fields

OU ID - ID of the Organizational Unit sales tax was calculated for.

St Cd - Code of the state associated with the sales tax jurisdiction.

Jurisdiction ID - ID of the sales tax jurisdiction.

Jurisdiction Description - Description of the sales tax jurisdiction.

Amount - Total sales tax amount calculated for the Organizational Unit/Jurisdiction combination.
