Cannot delete Equipment Capacity in an Equipment Class

Issue/Symptom/Question

Receive notification 'This item cannot be deleted because it is referenced in the CUS_EQ_CLASS_OVR table' when trying to delete an equipment capacity in an equipment class.

Service Management > Customer Information > Customer Equipment Maintenance > Setup > Customer Equipment Classes

Resolution/Fix/Answer

This notification will occur if there are tasks associated with the equipment, even if it is unused or there is not a capacity assigned to it.  If you delete the Task ID(s) that are associated with the equipment, PENTA will then allow you to delete it.

  1.  Query the piece of equipment in Service Management > Customer Information > Customer Equipment Maintenance > Setup > Customer Equipment Classes.
  2.  Go to the General navigation bar > Maintenance Estimates > Tasks / Materials > Right-click on the Task ID field > Delete Record(s).
