Issue/Symptom/Question

When we set up our main operating account that we run our AP checks out of, we set up a range of pre-numbered checks. Our automatic check number assignment started at 1. We are fast approaching the low number of the pre-numbered checks.

Our question is when the automatic check numbers reach the first pre-numbered check, what happens? Will the automatic check numbers jump to the first number outside of our pre-numbered range?

Resolution/Fix/Answer

PENTA will skip over and pickup the next available number. 

If PENTA is auto assigning your check numbers, PENTA will not assign the specified check number or range of numbers to an automated check. The Pre-numbered Checks Low # and High # is a range used for reserving manual checks when PENTA is auto-numbering checks..
