Resolution/Fix/Answer

Estimated costs by cost type can be entered for both work orders and maintenance contracts.  For maintenance contracts they must be entered at the maintenance schedule→scheduled service date level.

Work Orders

From within the Work Order Information window:

(1) Click on the "Assignment/Estimate" item in the tree view on the left.

(2) Click on the "Estimated Cost" button. This opens a pop up window for entering the estimated costs.

(3) Within the window, enter the cost type and estimated cost for that cost type.  Repeat for all cost types with an estimate.  Close window when complete.

Maintenance Contracts

(1)  Click on the "Maint Sched Info..." button in the lower left section.

(2) Focus a Scheduled service date row

(3) Click on the "Estimates by Cost Type" button.

(4) Enter the cost type and estimated cost.  Repeat for each cost type with an estimated cost for the visit.

Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each service date with an estimated cost.

Viewing Gross Margin

Gross margin and gross margin percentages for work orders and maintenance contracts can be viewed from the Workbench → SM: Service Management Reporting Center.
