ERROR: Timezone ____ is not valid.

Issue/Symptom/Question

Error is raised when tech Adds New Work Order in Mobile Field Service. The error message reads:

"Cannot create work order with id: 

_____. Processing request failed.

Errors: ERROR: Timezone America/New_York is not valid.

Environment

PENTA Mobile Field Service (MFS) –> Add New WO button

PENTA for Windows (PfW) → Finance & Accounting → Setup → Organizational Units → Service Management → Timezone Region

PENTA for Windows → System Management → System Rules → System Configuration

Resolution/Fix/Answer

Only the following Timezone Regions should be configured for all Organizational Units affected when creating New Work Orders in MFS:

  • Pacific/Guam
  • US/Samoa
  • US/Pacific
  • US/Moutnain
  • US/Michigan
  • US/Indiana/Starke
  • US/Hawaii
  • US/East-Indiana
  • US/Eastern
  • US/Cetnral
  • US/Arziona
  • US/Aleutian
  • US/Alaska
  • Canada/Yukon
  • Canada/Saskatchewan
  • Canada/Pacific
  • Canada/Newfoundland
  • Canada/Mountain
  • Canada/East-Saskatchewan
  • Canada/Eastern
  • Canada/Central
  • Canada/Atlantic

Please make the necessary adjustments for the affected OU's in the Organizational Unit setup window. 


If an Organizational Unit level for Timezone Regions is not needed. This can function at the System Management level where a Timezone Region will default when OU Timezone Regions are (null):

Navigate to: 

PENTA for Windows → System Management → System Rules → System Configuration

Select a Timezone Region from the valid list of values. This Timezone Region will be used if OUs do not have a Timezone Region configured.

Cause 

Before PENTA v20.4 and v20.5 in PfW and MFS, there was a larger list of Timezone Regions that customers utilized. Moving forward, PENTA simplified the list for consistency and now have a valid Timezone Region list to refer to for OU's and Default OU's.
