Error: 'Failed to Connect to OnBase. Reason Unknown' When Opening Document Via Paperclip

Issue/Symptom/Question

When attempting to view a document via the paperclip icon in a PENTA window, I am receiving a 'Failed to Connect to OnBase. Reason Unknown' error message.

  • PENTA for Windows
  • OnBase
  • Opening a paperclip in any PENTA for Windows window
  • Integrated/NT/Windows authentication for OnBase

Resolution/Fix/Answer

Please review these steps first before logging a Service Desk ticket: Change a User's OnBase Password so it Doesn't Get Out of Sync with PENTA for Windows

If the steps do not work log a Service Desk ticket and provide the PENTA User Id that is experiencing this error

Cause 

User's OnBase password may not be aligned with the PENTA Database User's password.
