Resolution/Fix/Answer
To enter the initial setup of WA-FML tax maintenance:
- Access Payroll Tax Maintenance screen and query (or scroll down to) the WA-FML record
- Verify the General tab information
- Click on Accrual and Expense Accounts tab
- Enter Accrual (employee portion) and Expense (employer portion) Accounts for the LE OU of the employees affected
- Enter your company's Tax Account Id for WA
- Click on Employee Classifications tab to establish risk classifications
- Enter your classification codes and descriptions (these are defined by you based on risk factor differences that apply)
- Enter the Payroll Classes for the employees that are being paid in WA, affected by the WA-FML, for each Classification Code
- If each Classification Code is employee specific, enter each Employee assigned to the code
- Each (child) Payroll Class can only be assigned to one (parent) risk classification.
- Multiple (child) Payroll Classes can be assigned to the same (parent) risk classification.
- Click on Rates tab
- Default is WA (if blank, enter WA)
- For each Employee Classification code entered, enter an Effective Date, Rate, and Annual Earnings Limit that applies for that classification
- For each classification code, enter the Employee and Employer 'portion of premium' percentages (must total 100.0000) for Family Leave
- For each classification code, enter the Employee and Employer portion of premium percentages (must total 100.0000) for Medical Leave
