Setup up for New Jersey Unemployment Payroll Taxes
Issue/Symptom/Question
Why doesn't the form 941 for NJ match my accrual?
Environment
PENTA for Windows
Payroll
State Tax Information
Resolution/Fix/Answer
Short Answer: The 941 form needs to be entered the way PENTA was processing payroll, by excluding wages greater than the limit in the Forms calculations.
Long Answer: The New Jersey setup in PENTA can be tricky as there are many pieces and funding sources. The example below illustrates the State Tax Information window conversion from NJ to PENTA.
UT = Unemployment Tax Paid by the Employer
UI = Unemployment Insurance Paid by the Employee
WF = Workforce Development
DI = Disability Insurance
FLI = Family Leave Insurance
SUT = State Unemployment Tax
SDI = State Disability Insurance
SUI = State Unemployment Insurance
