Forecast Entry Default Effective Date of Entries

Issue/Symptom/Question

Here's a question that came to me and I couldn't find the answer to the in the knowledge database.

"Are we able to change the default date that auto-populates in the forecasting module? Currently it auto-populated the last day of the prior month. So if I went into forecast today it would populate a date of 4/30/22, which is a closed period. But it will still let me post that forecast."

The OU attempting the forecast does have period #11 for April 2022 closed. But it still defaults to an April forecast date. Can we make Penta change that default to a May date in this example? Or have it default to the most current unclosed period?

Project Management > Forecast & Completion Information > Forecast Entry

Resolution/Fix/Answer

The date in the Effective Date of Entries field is populated by the File > User Preferences > Window > Default Options > Default Value - Effective Date of Entries selection. Once in the Forecast Entry window, you can select this path and update to the date that best matches your preference.
