Importing Employee Time using Penta's PentaConnectTimecard API

Issue/Symptom/Question

We are testing PentaConnectTimecard - v1 in our test environment and are unable to see the batches that have been integrated from the our external system call. The API instructions states: Creating an activity log allows you to post employee time into PENTA.
Employee time will appear in the Time - Equipment - Production Units Entry screen import mobile button. The Import Mobile button is not enabled and we are having difficultly finding where to enable this within our system

Resolution/Fix/Answer

Security to import time using the PentaConnectTimecard - v1 API is set within the "Work Package Manager - Administrators screen.

Within that screen users can be set up with security to import time for an entire OU.

Users can also be set up as an Override to the OU level security. These Overrides are set up at the Foreman level.

If a user isn't seeing time in the Import Mobile Screen try the following:

  • Navigate to the Work Package Manager Administrators screen - Project Management> Work Package - Manager> Work Package Manager Administrators

  • Query back the OU Id for which you are trying to import time

    • If a record isn't retrieved:
      • Enter the relevant OU record in the OU ID Field
      • Enter the relevant user Id in the "Primary User ID" Field 


To add Alternate Administrators: 

    • Navigate to the "Alternate Administrators" tab.
      • Query back the User ID from the above step. 
      • Add the User Id(s) who will be the alternate administrators in the "Alternate Administrator User Id" field

  • Note: If the primary user Id is the Import manager for more than one OU and you want to limit the alternate to a single OU, then uncheck the Authorized For All OUs and use the "Edit OU list" button in the bottom right to control OU level access for the Alternate Administrator

After performing the above, exit and re-enter the Time Equipment Production Units Entry screen, you should be able to import Activity Logs.
