I am trying to make sure we do not change our prior fiscal year. We want to move a job from one OU to another OU.

1. What is the impact of saying yes to create transfer entries?
2. What is the impact of saying yes to Include Prior fiscal year?
3. Does the Transfer date control what gets transferred?
4. We want this to be as of 4/1/25 so if we say yes to both of these does that mean it will only transfer cost posted after 4/1/25 to the new OU or that is just the date the transfer will be dated?

The transfer date is the date the cost/billing/revenue transfers will occur for the current fiscal year transactions, and therefore the date the GL is updated for those current year transactions.

Regarding the Include Prior Fiscal Year field, here is a good explanation on what will happen if you choose to update that field to Yes (assuming your prior fiscal year is not closed in which case you will not be able to access this)

• If the prior fiscal year has not been closed for the job's legal entity organization unit, PENTA will allow entry in the Include Prior Fiscal Year field (if the prior fiscal year is closed this field is non-enterable). If the prior fiscal year is not closed, and the value of Include Prior Fiscal Year is = "Y", PENTA will generate general ledger transactions to transfer costs, billings and earned revenue entries for the prior year values and dates these transactions as of the last day in that fiscal year period (one document for the prior year amounts). This is limited to the amounts in the prior year only, it does not include amounts that may exist in years prior to this year.

Based on the explanation/questions, it sounds like the user wants the following. This should create transfer entries for the current year activity only, posting that on 4/1/25, and leave prior year activity alone/not transferred

Create Transfer Entries = Y

Transfer Date = 4/1/25

Include Prior Fiscal Year = N

It is recommended running this through in the testing environment, review the results, and ensure its doing what you are expecting
