Resolution/Fix/Answer

Locate the Portal Configuration Tool on the server that Penta Technologies, Inc. installed the Employee Self-Service Portal.

C:\Program Files\Penta Technologies, Inc\Employee Portal\{latest version}\Management.\

    1. Launch the Portal Configuration Tool by following these steps:
      1. Double click PentaEmployeePortal.
      2. Click Yes when prompted to allow the Microsoft Management Console to make changes to the computer.
      3. Double click Configured Employee Portals. PENTA lists available portals.
      4. Single click Employee Portal to select it.
      5. Under EmployeePortal in the Actions list on the right side of the window, click Modify. PENTA opens the Modify Employee Portal Endpoint pop-up window.
    2. In the Portal Name field, enter the name you want displayed on your Employee Self-Service Portal log in page.

NOTE: Do not use slashes (\ and /). You may use these special characters: – ( - ; ' )

    1. In the Welcome Message field, enter the greeting text you want shown when a user successfully logs into your Employee Self-Service Portal. For example: Welcome to the Employee Portal!

  1. In the Documents Category Title field, enter the description you want displayed in the Employee Self-Service Portal to identify the section in which you put links to documents.
  2. In the Number of Documents field, enter the maximum number of document links you want to display in the documents section of the portal. If you link more than this number of documents, your employees click the ‘All Documents’ link in the portal to view the complete list of available documents.
  3. In the Links Category Title field, enter the description you want displayed in the Employee Self-Service Portal to identify the section in which you put links to news sources.
  4. In the Number of Links field, enter the maximum number of links to news items you want to display in the links section of the portal. If you link more than this number of news items, your employees click the ‘All News’ link in the portal to view the complete list of available news links.
  5. In the Google Analytics Id field, enter the Id of the Google Analytics account you established for gathering portal usage data. If you are not gathering portal usage data, leave this field blank.
  6. In the Data Service Url field, enter the web address of your data service.
  7. Accept the default value 60000 (60 seconds) in the Data Service Timeout field, or enter your preferred timeout period that the User Interface will wait for a response from the Data Service. NOTE: This value is set in milliseconds.
  8. In the Theme field, select the color scheme you want for your Employee Self-Service Portal by using the drop-down list. If you select Custom, you must have a customized CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) file to use in step 1.A.12.
  9. If you entered Custom in the Theme field, enter the path and name of your custom CSS file in the Custom Theme field.
  10. Click the Change button to save your changes and close the Portal Configuration Tool.
