Use the Job Cost Detail by Revenue Category report to analyze job profitability and performance by revenue category. Revenue categories are user defined codes that you can associate with both contract line items and Costcodes.

For example, if you have a job that contains some components performed on a cost plus basis and other components performed on a lump sum basis, your revenue categories may be the Contract Type of Lump Sum and Cost Plus. You could associate the appropriate revenue categories with each line item and Costcode. This would allow you to analyze the profitability of the Cost Plus work versus the lump sum work.

Report Fields

Revenue Category - ID of the revenue category assigned to the line item and/or Costcode.

Cost Type/Costcode/Costcode Description - The Cost Type and Costcode assigned the revenue category

Estimate – Original - The original cost estimate for the Cost Type/Costcode.

Estimate – Revised - The revised cost estimate for the Cost Type/Costcode.

Actuals - The actual cost amount for the Cost Type/Costcode.

Forecast - The forecast at complete amount for the Cost Type/Costcode.

Forecast Variance - Calculated as: Forecast – The revised estimate.

Contract Line # - ID and description of the line item assigned the revenue category.

Contract + Apprvd - Calculated as: Original contract + Approved changes for the line item.

Billed to Date - The line item’s job to date billed amount.
