Scan and Link Documents

Overview:

The Paperclip Icon on many master record windows (Customers, Vendors, Employees, etc.) is used as a portal into OnBase.  Documents linked to a record that a User has security access to are visible through the Paperclip portal.  Also, documents can be scanned with a desktop scanner or to a network drive and can be added to a record through the portal.  Documents generated by PENTA are also automatically linked and accessible through the portal if needed.

Benefits:

  • Provides access to documents without needing to go into OnBase by querying on fields (vendor Id, PO #, etc.)
  • PO's, Subcontracts, etc., generated by PENTA are automatically stored in OnBase and available to be viewed/printed

Roles:

  • PENTA Users

Additional Content

  • Users need OnBase Security configured to allow access to view Document Types in the Paperclip
  • User needs an active OnBase User so PENTA can look up the User's Security for the Paperclip
