How can I change my PENTA user password?

How do I reset a user's PENTA password?

Applies To

PENTA for Windows

Password Maintenance (System Management>Security>Password Maintenance)

Define Users (System Management > Security > Define Users)

Resolution/Fix/Answer

There are two options for updating your PENTA password. Option 1 is you are forced to update your password, either when your system administrators turns on password security for the first time, or after your password expires over time. Option 2 is you would like to update your password but you are not forced to do so.

OptionĀ 1: Forced Password Update

  1. While logging into the system, you receive the below error message:
  2. After clicking okay, you will be sent automatically to the Password Maintenance window
  3. Enter your Current PENTA Password
  4. Click Tab on your keyboard
  5. Enter a new Password (Requirements for this are determined at the system level, please check with your system administrator for more information)
  6. Click Tab on your keyboard
  7. Enter the new Password a second time
  8. Click Tab on your keyboard
  9. Once complete, you will receive the below message, then click Ok
  10. Next, close the Password Maintenance window and log into PENTA using your new password




Option 2: Manually update your PENTA password

  1. Navigate to the Password Maintenance window
  2. Repeat steps 3 -10 above

Option 3: Reset password for another user

  1. Navigate to the Define Users window.
  2. Query the user whose password needs to be reset.
  3. Type the new password in the Password field.
  4. Hit tab.
  5. Retype the password in the Password field.
  6. Hit tab.
  7. Close the window.
