Allow technicians to view documents in Mobile Field Service (MFS)

Issue/Symptom/Question

How do we allow our technicians the ability to view documents in Mobile Field Service? (MFS) For example, view photo attachments that techs have uploaded in the past in the My Work History screen or anywhere in MFS under the Documents button?

PENTA for Windows → System Management → Security → Define Users window  → Group Authorization section

PENTA for Windows → System Management → Security → Security Groups window → Document Type Security tab

Resolution/Fix/Answer

Verify the MFS users and their Security Group settings allow the appropriate Document Types Security:

  1. Query the MFS users Security Group in Security Groups
  2. Navigate to the Document Type Security
  3. Locate SM - Work Site Photograph and SM - Work Order/Work Ticket Document Types and any other document types you want the technician to have access to
  4. Drag to "Document Types for this Group" section
  5. Close window

Verify the OnBase security group for MFS users are configured with the appropriate privileges and Document Types:

  1. Log into OnBase Configuration
  2. Click Users menu
  3. Click User Groups & Rights
  4. Select Privileges
  5. Choose all privileges that are appropriate in Documents section:
    1. Retrieve / View
    2. Create
    3. Modify
    4. Save
