How do I remove access for user to change status of work order to cancelled?

Issue/Symptom/Question

  • How to take away rights for a particular employee so they can not change the status of a work order to Cancelled?  I believe this is in the Define Users Module Security for Service Management, but I am not finding it.

  • System Management > Security > Define Users / Module Security / SERV (Service Managment)

Resolution/Fix/Answer

  • Work Order Status Code Access is managed at the OU level.  If a user is authorized for a certain OU in Define Users, they will have access to change all status codes.  This is controlled via Service Management>>Setup>>Work Order Status Codes.  OU Access is found by clicking on the 'Edit OU List'.  


  • However, override of certain status's occurs at Define Users>>Module>>Service Management.  Here you can define each person's ability to change the WO status of 'Closed', 'Work Completed' , or 'Completed'.
