When requiring techs to complete all ticket windows on the MFS ticketing section, is there a way to make Recommended Repair Notes optional?

Issue/Symptom/Question

When requiring techs to complete all sections on the MFS ticketing section, is there a way to make Recommended Repair Notes optional?

Environment

Penta for Windows

Mobile Field Service - Configuration (Service Management>Mobile Field Service>Configuration>Mobile Field Service -Configuration)

Mobile Field Service Application

Resolution/Fix/Answer

When the 'Techs must complete all ticket windows' is checked, technicians must populate each section with information, or indicate there is nothing to populate by clicking the slider. For Recommended Repair Notes, there is no slider, so the options to make this field optional are as follows:

  1. Choose not to use recommended repair notes at all by unchecking this option via the Ticketing tab. This will make it so that techs will no longer see this option on the device at all. This can be controlled at the system level, service type level, and call type level, for jobs and work orders.
  2. Leave the field as required, create a standard text dictionary that reads something like "No Recommended Repairs". This will make it easy on the tech to indicate no recommended repairs were identified during the service visit (Service Management>Mobile Field Service>Configuration>Mobile Service Text Dictionary)
