Overview:

When using the Timecard method of Equipment Charging, users have the ability to track charged equipment expenses at the "Equipment Component" level. Tracking Asset expenses at the Component level provides the user with a more granular method of tracking Asset expenses. Tracking Asset components can be accomplished by Creating an Asset Component (using the Asset Component Maintenance Scree) and assigning said component to a Charge Rate. Doing this provides the user an opportunity to break out "Components" of said charge rate into various categories.

Examples of common Asset Components include (but are not limited to):

  • Fuel
  • Taxes and Insurance
  • Depreciation
  • Repairs
  • Parts
  • Tires

These components are user created and can be set up in the Charge Rate Components screen.

Benefits:

  • Allows full leverage of PENTA's Equipment Expense tracking capabilities
  • Provides a method for breaking down charge rates in explanatory components.
  • Enables users to analyze Equipment profitability on an asset by asset and job by job basis.

Roles:

  • Fixed Asset Manager
  • Fixed Asset Clerk
  • Accounting Clerk
