Issue/Symptom/Question

After generating a Purchase Order document, I am receiving the following application error message.

Application Error

An internal system error has been detected.

The application will close.

Purchase Order Grid Option window (Purchasing>Purchase Order Grid Option)

Resolution/Fix/Answer

• When generating a purchase order document, unless your company uses older xml technology, do not use the 'Generate Document' button, or File>Generate Document menu item. 
• Instead, you will want to use File>Reports followed by selecting the appropriate template and clicking 'Ok'.

If the above steps does not resolve the issue, likely, the user attempting to generate the document does not have proper security access to the document types required to run this process. At a minimum, the user will need following document type security:

• PO - Purchase Order
• All documents types listed in the 'Penta' document type group
• All document types listed in the 'Penta Data' document type group
