Resolution/Fix/Answer
There are two options for updating your PENTA password. Option 1 is you are forced to update your password, either when your system administrators turns on password security for the first time, or after your password expires over time. Option 2 is you would like to update your password but you are not forced to do so.
Option 1: Forced Password Update
- While logging into the system, you receive the below error message:
- After clicking okay, you will be sent automatically to the Password Maintenance window
- Enter your Current PENTA Password
- Click Tab on your keyboard
- Enter a new Password (Requirements for this are determined at the system level, please check with your system administrator for more information)
- Click Tab on your keyboard
- Enter the new Password a second time
- Click Tab on your keyboard
- Once complete, you will receive the below message, then click Ok
- Next, close the Password Maintenance window and log into PENTA using your new password
Option 2: Manually update your PENTA password
- Navigate to the Password Maintenance window
- Repeat steps 3 -10 above
Option 3: Reset password for another user
- Navigate to the Define Users window.
- Query the user whose password needs to be reset.
- Type the new password in the Password field.
- Hit tab.
- Retype the password in the Password field.
- Hit tab.
- Close the window.
NOTE: If a user is unable to change his/her password and receives an error message, please ensure the user has security authorization to the Password Maintenance window.
