Does Penta have the capability to create the EFW2 Format filing for our local withholding tax returns? It automatically generates this for each state when the W2s are processed but there isn’t anything to file local W2s.

Resolution/Fix/Answer

To enable local electronic filing the desired locality must be defined in the "Electronic W-2 File Locality Name" field on the Local Taxing Authority screen. Currently Penta supports electronic W-2 FIling for Kansas City, St. Louis, and Philadelphia.  After assigning the Locality, then run the W-2 for locals.
